Halloween Parade at school!

This morning was the Halloween parade at Cameron's school.  I'm so glad we didn't buy him a monkey costume because there were already 3 monkeys in his class alone!  Instead, Cameron was a sweet little elephant.  He hated the elephant hat, but without it, he'd just be a man in a grey suit, so he wore it for a bit and showed off in the parade!

 Getting dressed in his classroom

At first he did okay and enjoyed jumping in the crib...

The longer it took to get everybody in order, the more irritated the little elephant got.  The progression of pictures says it all...
(There's even a peanut next to him!)

 Get me out of here!

 En route...
My sweet elephant...finally rescued from all this silliness!

Playing after the parade...

After the parade, Cameron changed back into his skeleton outfit.  He worked up quite an appetite and was ready for a snack!

Eating cookies and instruments...

With the exploration of new snacks and such, I've been giving Cameron a "cookie" after dinner.  They are these little biscuits for babies, but you would think it was pure gold by the way he responds.  He waves his cookie over his head so proudly, as if it is his prized possession.

As I mentioned before, Cameron just loves his musical instrument set.  Check him out as he plays the drums and plays/eats the other instruments...and sings along!

Some Fall pics and celebrating Granddad's Birthday!

Hugs from the Big Man are just the best!  He wraps his chunky little arms around your neck and just snuggles in.
Big snuggles for Grammy

Grammy got Cameron a musical instrument set recently and he just loves it.  I can't believe it, but he doesn't even try to hit anyone with the drumsticks!  He loves waving them around, playing on the drums, and jingling the bells!

 Good night, Charlotte!

Last weekend we went to Grandmom and Granddad's to celebrate Granddad's birthday.  Cameron was such a champ and went hours without a nap because he was just having too much fun chasing Chico.  We took a nice long drive in the golf cart and enjoyed the perfect fall day.

We went to the playground and Cameron had tons of fun on the swings!

CME's 1st Buggy Ride!

Cameron's teacher invited me to come on a buggy ride with them this morning.  It's the cutest thing ever.  It's basically 4-seater buggies, and the little cuties get wheeled all over the city.  Cameron's teachers said "heavier friends go up front"...so Cameron got a front seat of course!

They went to the farmers market and looked at the fresh fruits and vegetables.

They went to the green and watched the fish and water.
They listened to a street performer play his guitar.  The kiddos loved it and were all dancing in their seats.

Shaking his head "no"!

I have some great photos from this past weekend that I have to post, but in the meantime I wanted to quickly post this silly video.  Cameron just learned to shake his head "no"!  Oh Lord!

I make it a point to try and keep the "no's" to a minimum and focus more on redirection.  His "no's" are for the more egregious matters, mostly involving going after electrical outlets, the occasional hitting, the "not-so-occasional" biting, or throwing food and/or his sippy cup.  The other day he threw some peaches from his highchair and I didn't even say no, rather just shook my head "no", and he thought it was the funniest thing and started mimicking me.  While he definitely understands the word "no", he doesn't have a negative connotation with shaking your head "no".  He just thinks it is so funny!  Guess I am going to have my hands full!

Hands up! Baby, hands up!

Cameron's new thing is lifting his arms in the air and waiting for a reaction...us cheering for him, of course!  It's the funniest thing.  It's so fun to see how he's really understanding things now.  He's beginning to make a connection between actions and subsequent reactions.  He's loves to do things over and over and over again.  It never gets old.

Some arms-up fun in the tub!

Pumpkin carving!

This weekend Cameron was still recovering from being sick with a virus and a double ear infection, but we still managed to have some fun.  We took Cameron to the park on Saturday and he enjoyed the swings and a nice walk on a path through the woods.  The weather was amazing!

Cameron was very serious on the swings.

On Sunday night we carved the pumpkins we picked last week.  At first, Cameron was petrified of the pumpkins.  He refused to stand on the counter next to them for a picture and just clung to my neck.  After I drew on a Mickey Mouse face, he was a little more interested and was willing to check it out a bit.

My plan was to draw Mickey on the pumpkin and then cut out all the dark areas...It didn't exactly turn out as I pictured, but not too terrible.
