More week 11...

Cameron is exploring his fists and fingers and most popular, his lips.  He's been folding his bottom lip in and gumming it.  His little chin gets so red and slobbery.

Cameron is also the craziest eater.  If you take a break to burp him, he starts screaming at the top of his lungs.  It's as if he can't believe you have the nerve to take his bottle away, even for a moment.  He must have a constant flow of food to his tummy at all times.  And then when he's done, you better get that bottle out of his face ASAP.  He knows what he wants!  As you can see, he's very helpful.

Beautiful boy!  He scratched his poor nose while flailing his fists around like a wild man.

Though he has a crew-cut up top, his hair in the back is getting longer and longer.  It now folds over in a little crinkle.  What a sweet little ducktail.

Being silly, dancing and playing in his crib...

Cameron and I went to the park again today.  I wanted to get his picture with the ducks, but you can see from his face that he did not enjoy the stop...he's saying, "Get this stroller moving again, woman."

Church and 1st pair of jeans

Cameron looked especially sharp for church this morning.  He wore his first pair of jeans and his trendy cardigan sweater that he got from Aunt Colleen and Uncle Steve.

Being silly while getting ready...

Now that is what handsome looks like!

Daddy and Cameron look SHARP!

Tummy Time

We try to practice Tummy Time at least once a day, but Cameron is not a fan.  It's so sad to watch him struggle with his face smashed into the floor.  You just want to help him, but he needs to work on lifting that big melon!

Here's the sweet pea practicing tummy time on his adorable new blanket from Grampy-G.

Daddy has started comparing him to Gargamel from the Smufs.  I suppose because they share the same barber.  :)

Hoisting that noggin is so tough!

Ahhhh, so much better!

Callie sleeping in my shoes.

Visit to Dad and Donna's

Yesterday we took a ride into South Carolina to visit with Dad and Donna at their temporary rental home, while their house is being built.  A few weeks ago they moved from Pinehurst to just about 35 minutes away.  We had a great lunch and afternoon together.

Cameron and Granddad

 ...playing with Grandmom

Cameron had a bit of a fussy morning, but played and read his book in his monkey seat while we ate lunch.

After lunch we explored a bit of the neighborhood and toured some of the model homes.  (While we were out walking, we started talking to a man with his grand kids in a stroller.  We were sharing stories about the kids because he said he had a brand new 5 month old granddaughter.  His daughter then came over and met Cameron, and told us about her baby.  She asked how old Cameron was and did a double-take when we said 11 weeks.  She said her 5 month old daughter is 13 lbs...Cameron is 14lbs!)

There is so much to do in the neighborhood including kayaking, swimming, fishing, tennis, and even pickle ball!  As soon as he's big enough, Cameron is going to really love it!

Chico was catching some sun and enjoying the breeze in the window.

As you can see, Cameron required a wardrobe change mid-day.

We had a great afternoon and are glad that Dad and Donna live much closer!

Freedom Park

So my wrist has really been hurting me these past few weeks.  It's basically pain from my thumb to my wrist on my right hand, and it turns out that I have tendinitis!  How could I possibly get that??...From repetitive motions with my chunky monkey!!!  My big boy is just so heavy, and I guess my wrist takes the brunt of all the hoisting in and out of cribs, bouncy seats, pack n' plays, changing tables, etc.

Sweet little leg rolls!

Josh and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary yesterday.  We went to a very "romantic" dinner at Pizza Peel and brought our little friend along.  We made sure he had a full tummy and a clean diaper, and after that, all we could do was pray.  He was actually very good and slept most of the time.  (As long as I ate my pizza, one-handed, and rocked his carrier with the other.)

Daddy with his anniversary present.

Today was a great day.  We had BEAUTIFUL weather in the 70's and Josh took off of work.  We made a trip to Babies R Us and then went to Freedom Park.  We took a walk around the lake and just had a really nice day.  Cameron got to see the ducks and lots of dogs.  He can't wear sunscreen until he's 6 months old, so we just kept the hood of his carrier up the whole time to protect his precious little skin.  Cameron cracks us up because he's so dramatic about sunlight.  He's like a little vampire and as soon as there is even a tiny bit of sunlight, he squints his eyes and scrunches up his little nose....(as you can see below.)

Week 10 and 1st cold

This week, Cameron was 10 weeks old.  Sheesh, time is flying!  This adorable outfit is from Cousin Meredith.  Meredith was so sweet and got Cameron this outfit while I was pregnant.  He clearly loves it, since he's waving his arms and blowing a kiss to the camera.

Showing off his big tummy and overall "roundness".

On the weekends, I'll usually take the middle of the night feeding, and Daddy will get up with Cameron in the morning so I can get an extra hour of sleep or so.  I usually wake up to lots of singing and laughing.  This was one morning when Daddy and Cameron were playing on the floor of the nursery.  I think nearly every toy he owns was out, so there was a ton of fun being had!
My sweet jungle baby...

Cameron is getting very good at holding objects.  He's starting to "play" more and loves putting the crinkly toys in his mouth.  His favorite toy is a crinkly book that he reads cover to cover, over and over again.  He's so smart!

One thing that we dealt with this past week was Cameron's first cold.  It is very sad.  (I'm certain he picked it up from the pediatrician's office last week.)  He's coughing, and sneezing, and just overall congested.  We called the pediatrician and they recommended putting saltwater up his nose and then using the nasal aspirator to get all the gunk out.  Let's just say that he's not a huge fan of this process.  Additionally, they told us to put a pillow under one end of his mattress so that he's slightly elevated.  This has been especially interesting, because we watch him in the monitor all night wiggling and scooting down the mattress until he's nearly out of the picture, at which point we go into the nursery and scooch him back to the middle.

After about 5 days, he still hadn't kicked the cold so I took him to the pediatrician.  Fortunately  his lungs were clear and he still didn't have a fever, so they said to just keep doing what we're doing.  (Also, he weighed 14 lbs.)  Hopefully he'll feel better soon.

My friends, Heather and Sarah, came by to visit the other day.  Cameron was showing Sarah how well he "stands"!

More week 9

As I mentioned a few posts ago, my little man is SUPER-bald up top, and has beautiful, flowing, straight brown locks in the back.  You can get a glimpse of his sweet 'do in this picture.

Cameron loves going for walks.  We pretty much always take him in the stroller, but we've tried the Baby Bjorn a few times and he's finally starting to not mind it so much.  When we first tried it, he didn't have enough control of his head and neck, so he would get frustrated with his face smashed into my chest, but since he's getting bigger, he seemed to enjoy looking around.

For some reason, Cameron always gets dirt under his fingernails.  You would think he was busy at work in a mine all day or something, instead of just hanging out like a prince all day.  In addition to his dirty little fingernails, he does a lot of scratching his face.  He's at the stage where he's always trying to put his hands in his mouth, but doesn't yet have the best dexterity, so he'll swing his fists around frantically, and accidentally scratch his sweet little face.  I try to clip his nails as frequently as possible, but he's just so squirmy.  The best way to do it seems to be when he's sleeping.  A manicure while napping...not a bad life!

I had a Dr's appointment, so Dad and Donna came up from SC to hang out with Cameron.  They had lots of fun while I was gone, and when I came back, Cameron was happy as could be, smiling away.  Dad and Donna went on a cruise to Alaska this summer and got Cameron this adorable bear hat.  I put it on him every single time we leave the house, because he's just so precious in it!

2 month Dr.'s appointment and visit from Mamaw

Cameron went to the pediatrician for his 2 month check-up.  This visit confirmed our suspicion...that we have a very big boy on our hands!  Cameron weighed 13 lbs 1.5oz and was 24 inches long.  (75th percentile for both height and weight!)  His head was 30th percentile.  Cameron received 2 shots and an oral vaccine.  Josh and I were absolutely dreading this part of the appointment, but he was a champ!  He cried for just a second and then was happy again as soon as I held him.  He didn't even cry going into his carrier.  He got fussy when we got home, which was to be expected, but was sweet as can be after just a bit of infant Tylenol!

Showing off his big tummy...

Getting almost too big for his bassinet.

Mamaw was in town and came by to babysit Cameron, while Josh and I went out to dinner and a movie.  (We pretty much looked at pictures of the pumpkin on my phone all night.)  Even better, she stayed overnight, so Josh and I could sleep in on Saturday morning.  (Sleep is like gold around here now!)

Fun with Mamaw!

Professional Photo Shoot!

When Cameron was 7 days old, we had a photographer come to our house to get some photos of him as a brand new baby!  They just change so fast, and we wanted to be sure to capture that moment in time.  He only had about an hour in him before he got too fussy, but we managed to get some gorgeous pictures!  What a handsome man!

Weeks 7 and 8

Mr. Cameron is just as precious as can be, as he's changing each day.  He's looking more and more like a round little baby, as opposed to a tiny little infant.  He's very silly and laughs all the time.

Here he is showing off his tight abs...Now there's a "situation".

Cameron loves his monkey seat.  He just looks like a sweet little bird-man!

Cameron is super-bald up top, and has tons of long, dark, straight hair in the back.  His hair comes out all the time, and he always leaves clumps in his crib.  Here is a picture of his sweet little horseshoe.

First, Cameron started in the glider for several weeks, then moved in to the bassinet, and now we finally have him in the crib, like a big boy!  He was a champ from the very first night in the crib, sleeping 6 hours straight!

Smiley cutie!

Cousin Ella playing with Cameron!

Cammy's Grammy!

Sweet little man, getting ready for an Uptown adventure!  (Leaving the house is quite a feat.  I have to make sure I have diapers, bottles, a change of clothes, stroller, carseat, etc.  Cameron was exhausted just thinking about it.)

Cameron is a sharp dresser!  He was headed out to visit Daddy at work...dressed to the nines!

Smiling baby doll.  It just melts my heart!

We put him in the bumbo seat for the first time the other day.  He's pretty good at holding his head up, except for tummy time.  He gets frustrated and furious when we put him on his belly, but he loves to look around when he's upright.  The world is a fascinating place!
