Last night several of my Aunts and Uncles came down on their way to Atlanta for my cousin's wedding. While it was way too short, it was so wonderful to get to spend a little bit of time with them. We haven't seen them since I was pregnant with Cameron, so it was so nice for him to get to meet them for the first time.
Cameron was a little shy at first, but by the end of the evening, he was handing out great big hugs and blowing kisses to everyone. What a nice evening.
Last Saturday we had a wonderful morning at Freedom Park. We took a walk around the lake and got to see many many dogs, tiny baby ducks, and even some professional tree climbers...yes. After our walk, Cameron had a picnic lunch and just played. Cameron had his first "official successful peanut butter and jelly sandwich." We've attempted a few bites here and there in the past, but it's never gone well, however this time, Cameron actually ate almost an entire half of the sandwich.
Jelly man coming my way...
Nothing like a PBJ-double-sneezer in the camerawoman's face...
After Easter morning, we spent the afternoon at Grandmom and Granddad's. They just put up a brand new back patio area, so we hung outside most of the afternoon. It was a beautiful afternoon and we had a great time just hanging out and Cameron got to run around all over the backyard. They have a giant hill behind their house and Cameron loves to be held while running up and down the hill. Lots of fun for him....exhausting for Daddy and Mama. Cameron loved his little chair he got from Grandmom and Granddad.
Just relaxing....
Surprise! That is his new favorite face.
After lunch, we headed to the playground on the golf cart. Cameron thinks he is a big boy and was not interested in me holding him on the golf cart and kept trying to peel my fingers off from around his waist. He certainly was not going to win that battle.
We had a fun time at the playground, watching other kiddies and swinging.
Playing on the treacherous slide with daddy.
As you can see, Cameron had a great time on the slide...until it my turn to go down with him. His foot got stuck between me and the slide and while we continued going down the slide, his leg was still pointed up. Needless to say, while the adults nearly had a heart attack, Cameron cried for less than a minute and then was perfectly happy. Thank God he's so bendy! Though I don't think I'll be going down a slide with him any time soon.
Cameron just celebrated his second Easter. We thought we would try to "color" eggs, because he wasn't yet ready for actually dying eggs. Cameron tries to drink out of every cup/bottle he sees, so we didn't want him trying to drink vinegar and food coloring. He did a little bit of coloring with markers and a sticker here and there, but hopefully next year he'll be really into it. We also tried an egg hunt with eggs filled with goldfish as opposed to candy. While he enjoyed the goldfish treasure, he didn't really grasp the "hunt" aspect so much. It took him a bit to find his basket from the Easter Bunny, but he loved the cellophane and Easter basket grass most of all. I'm sure next year will be a whole different story!
Best Easter dancing of ALL time...
Looking for his Easter basket from the Bunny
Eating the goldfish out of his Easter eggs...not so much of a "hunt".
What's this grass-business???
Sweet boy...sweet tummy
Big kiss for Grammy
His new "surprised" face. Getting ready for a bike ride. He got this toy for Christmas, but he's finally big enough to use it!
Still doing "surprised"...while getting some sneaker help from Grampy-G.
Cameron LOVES to tackle people on the floor. All you have to do is lay down and he must run over and jump on your head. He is SUCH a boy.
