Cameron is now crawling! I spend most of the time trying to confine him with various pillows and toy barricades, and just chasing him all over the house.  Another new thing is pulling up.  He pulls up on the couch, the ottomans, and in his crib.  We've lowered the mattress and now he decides to cut his naps short to test out his new skills!

We went to the beach again last week (more pics to come), and this time we went to a mini-amusement park with a few rides.  Cameron rode on the trains and also the carousel.  He went on the carousel with Daddy, Aunt Colleen, and Cousin Ella.  Ella loved it and was practicing "no hands".  Cameron must have loved it too, because he started fussing and reaching for the horse when it was time to get off.

4th of July weekend!

Cameron is starting to get a little bit mobile these days.  Our friend adds a little twist to his movement though...he crawls backwards.  I don't know why, but he just hasn't figured out how to get his big legs under him and get moving forward, and rather just scoots backwards.  He gets frustrated because he finds himself getting farther and farther from whatever he's trying to get to.  (Even more frustrating, he'll back himself under the couch or under the Pack n' Play.)

Hmmm, I'd really like this binky and soccer ball...

...wait a minute!

Why am I back here now?

Because of his big, cute thighs, Cameron was never really able to comfortably sit in his bumbo seat.  He would sit in it for a few minutes but then get mad. As I'd pull him out of it, the bumbo seat would be stuck to him because his thighs were so chunky.  Well, I tried to  put him in it the other day and it was officially a no go!  His thighs couldn't even pretend to fit in the holes any longer...no more bumbo.  :(

Cameron is very fascinated by the whole process of eating solids.  He loves squishing the food between his fingers and wiping it across the highchair tray.  The other day I went to go grab a paper towel and he stretched forward far enough to get a hold of the spoon and bowl.  Let's just say he was in green bean heaven!  He had the bowl in the one hand, and the spoon in the other, and was clapping them together and happily waving them above his head.  He was very proud of himself.

More fun with that silly dog...

Josh's mom and sister came down on Friday evening, as they were driving through Charlotte on their way to Hilton Head.  It was great to have dinner all together!

Cameron and Mamaw

I took so many pictures at the restaurant (and afterward), but with 6 kids all together, it was tough to get any usable photos.  After dinner we went over to Mom's apartment, because ours is stuffed to the gills with baby stuff.

All 6 cousins!
Chase, Bailey, Meredith, Cameron, Lauren, and Daniel
On July 4th we went to Dad and Donna's to hang out for the day.  We had a great time hanging out at the pool, riding in the golf cart, and Cameron's favorite...just "walking" around the house.
(Cameron was showing off his big muscles in his muscle tank top!)

After dinner, we raced home to try and beat the big storm that was rolling in because my car windows (back in Charlotte) were not rolled up all the way.  Unfortunately, it started pouring on our way home, with tons of thunder and lightening, so it was a bit of a treacherous ride.  But shortly after we got home, there was a beautiful rainbow across the sky.

1st Beach Trip

A few weeks ago, Cameron took his first trip to the beach!  We spent the week at North Myrtle Beach and had such a great time.  It was certainly not the relaxing week at the beach that it used it be.  With the need for shade, and tents, and floats, and bottles, and water diapers, and hats, and baby sunscreen, etc...we spent a lot more time "getting ready" to head to the beach or pool, as opposed to actual relaxing.  Not to mention, our new need for shade kept us from getting any sort of tan.

Nola and Cameron playing while I was trying to pack.
Cameron just loves Nola, and vice versa.  Though I don't approve, Nola gets a lick in here and there.

Since we had so much stuff, bringing both a baby and a dog, we had to borrow a minivan for the space.  Even with such a huge car, we barely got all that we needed stuffed in!  I love this picture because you see Nola's eyes peeking over all the stuff, and Cameron's cute little hamburger feet in his carseat.

We had a lot of 1sts on this trip, including 1st time in a restaurant high chair.  He's still a little too small, but he loves not being confined in a stroller and actually getting to bang on the table.  (Oh yeah, and a TV above him...nothing better!)

...still can't stop watching TV!

Cameron LOVES the pool.  He just loves splashing and hanging out in his little shaded float.

Grammy joined us for the last 2 days of our trip.  Cameron loved showing off all of his swimming moves!

Relaxing after a long swim

Summer beach storm, rolling in.

Cameron's hair is finally starting to come in.  This is a picture of his first noticeable "bed-head" after a nap.

Beach kiss from Daddy.

While we were on the beach one of the last days, Cameron was gnawing away on his teething ring, and there they were....2 little teeth poking through his little gums!  He is getting his 2 bottom front teeth, which explains the months of excessive drooling.  He's getting soooo big!

The last night, Josh and I went out to a movie, while Grammy watched Cameron.  Grammy took these pictures while she was feeding him.  Apparently, this little wild man had a great time!
