Mischief-making ON the activity seat

The other day Cameron was playing with his activity seat and completely surprised me when he lifted his chunky-monkey leg and climbed right on top of it!

and even more summer...visits from Granddad, Grammy, Grampy-G, Mamaw & Papaw, and Josh's Bday!

Granddad came by to hang out for a few hours.
Sweet boy having fun playing with Graddad!

 Ha!!  Peek-a-boo!

Grammy was here last week and invented a fun new game with Cameron.  She puts him in this magazine basket she has next to the couch and pushes him around like he's in a boat.  As you can tell, this is a big hit!

Banging his cups together.

Daddy's birthday was last week and Cameron helped him blow out the candles.

Just ridiculously cute!

Grampy-G came by for a day as well.  We had a fun day running errands and doing some shopping.
Cameron also had fun yanking Grampy-G's chest hair.

Papaw and Mamaw came by for a few days on their way down to Hilton Head.

Keep up, Papaw!

A sloppy, wet kiss for Papaw...probably with a few teeth too.

Sweet snuggle

For whatever reason, Cameron's new thing is weather maps.  He just loves them.  Anytime the weather comes on TV, he wiggles out of my arms and rushes over to get a better look.  He starts flapping his arms and making noise.  He just loves them!

More summer...

I cannot even believe that summer is almost over!  It seems like it just flew by.  Since it's been so difficult to keep up with of Cameron's summer adventures, here's a mass post of all the fun he had...

Just g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s!

Losing patience with all the picture-taking!

I know this won't make sense written, but Josh always holds Cameron up to the wall and pretends he's "artwork".  He'll stand back and say, "hmmm, what are your thoughts on this piece here?"...and for some reason Cameron just laughs and laughs.

The chunky piece of "artwork" displayed in the "Hall O' Cameron".

Just beginning to pull up!

My Gym and more videos...

The other day we tried out a My Gym class.  I would have thought that Cameron would have the best time of his life with all the music, colors, and excitement.   Not the case whatsoever.  Cameron had a great time the first few minutes chasing around some balls and playing, but as soon as it started to get loud and more chaotic, he wanted no part of all the fun.  He refused to be put down on the ground and just angrily looked around.  I think it was just way too much stimulation for him, not to mention the class had some dangerous overlap with naptime.  Needless to say, we're going to give My Gym a bit of a break for now, and try again in a few weeks.

Fun in the pack n' play...

 Cameron, the videographer extraordinaire!

The other day I walked to the bedroom to put some laundry away and heard Cameron hysterically laughing.  I was wondering what on earth could be so funny without me there to entertain him...why, his puppy, of course!

Recent videos...

Cameron is now crawling! I spend most of the time trying to confine him with various pillows and toy barricades, and just chasing him all over the house.  Another new thing is pulling up.  He pulls up on the couch, the ottomans, and in his crib.  We've lowered the mattress and now he decides to cut his naps short to test out his new skills!

We went to the beach again last week (more pics to come), and this time we went to a mini-amusement park with a few rides.  Cameron rode on the trains and also the carousel.  He went on the carousel with Daddy, Aunt Colleen, and Cousin Ella.  Ella loved it and was practicing "no hands".  Cameron must have loved it too, because he started fussing and reaching for the horse when it was time to get off.

4th of July weekend!

Cameron is starting to get a little bit mobile these days.  Our friend adds a little twist to his movement though...he crawls backwards.  I don't know why, but he just hasn't figured out how to get his big legs under him and get moving forward, and rather just scoots backwards.  He gets frustrated because he finds himself getting farther and farther from whatever he's trying to get to.  (Even more frustrating, he'll back himself under the couch or under the Pack n' Play.)

Hmmm, I'd really like this binky and soccer ball...

...wait a minute!

Why am I back here now?

Because of his big, cute thighs, Cameron was never really able to comfortably sit in his bumbo seat.  He would sit in it for a few minutes but then get mad. As I'd pull him out of it, the bumbo seat would be stuck to him because his thighs were so chunky.  Well, I tried to  put him in it the other day and it was officially a no go!  His thighs couldn't even pretend to fit in the holes any longer...no more bumbo.  :(

Cameron is very fascinated by the whole process of eating solids.  He loves squishing the food between his fingers and wiping it across the highchair tray.  The other day I went to go grab a paper towel and he stretched forward far enough to get a hold of the spoon and bowl.  Let's just say he was in green bean heaven!  He had the bowl in the one hand, and the spoon in the other, and was clapping them together and happily waving them above his head.  He was very proud of himself.

More fun with that silly dog...

Josh's mom and sister came down on Friday evening, as they were driving through Charlotte on their way to Hilton Head.  It was great to have dinner all together!

Cameron and Mamaw

I took so many pictures at the restaurant (and afterward), but with 6 kids all together, it was tough to get any usable photos.  After dinner we went over to Mom's apartment, because ours is stuffed to the gills with baby stuff.

All 6 cousins!
Chase, Bailey, Meredith, Cameron, Lauren, and Daniel
On July 4th we went to Dad and Donna's to hang out for the day.  We had a great time hanging out at the pool, riding in the golf cart, and Cameron's favorite...just "walking" around the house.
(Cameron was showing off his big muscles in his muscle tank top!)

Walking around the house...

 Walking with Grandmom

After dinner, we raced home to try and beat the big storm that was rolling in because my car windows (back in Charlotte) were not rolled up all the way.  Unfortunately, it started pouring on our way home, with tons of thunder and lightening, so it was a bit of a treacherous ride.  But shortly after we got home, there was a beautiful rainbow across the sky.
