38 weeks and Onesies!

Just 2 more weeks to go until we meet our little boy.  We are definitely very ready!

My friends at work organized a baby shower for me a few weeks ago and we made onesies with fabric markers.  They came out just adorable!  Who knew my colleagues had such artistic talent?  There were a few left over, so Josh and I made more at home.

6.5 weeks to go!

Today we had another ultrasound.  It was incredible to see how much our little friend is finally looking like a "real baby", instead of a skinny little skeleton.  He's just too too cute, and you can see his little chubby cheeks already!

In this picture, our little man's nose is smashed up against the wall of the uterus.  Seems pretty uncomfortable to me, but I guess he doesn't mind.  Plus, he's likely running out of room in there!

He currently weighs 4 lbs 13 oz and is in the 47th percentile for growth.  The humerus bone in his arm measured fairly long, so he's likely pretty tall as well.  (Chapel Hill basketball scholarship?!)

Just a few more weeks until our precious little baby is here!

Shower for Baby Boy Edwards

This past weekend was the baby shower for Baby Boy Edwards.  What a wonderful weekend!  Colleen and Mom did just the best job ever putting on an awesome, memorable baby shower for Josh, myself, and our little man.

 300 East was perfect!
(...thanks to some careful assistance up and down the stairs from the strapping Josh and Steve.)

The adorable monkey cake...

...and delicious monkey cookie favor!
Colleen prepared great (but tricky games)!

We were so glad to have our wonderful family and friends to share this day with us!

 Grandma and Grandad

Mamaw, Papaw, Minnie, and cousins, Meredith and Daniel

Robin, Aunt Melissa, and Cousin Daniel

Uncle Chris and Aunt Kristy, and more cousins, Chase, Bailey, and Lauren.

Grammy, Grampy, and Gee Gee (Gee?...aka "Great Great Godmother")

Uncle Steve, Aunt Colleen, and Cousin Ella.

Aunt Kelly and Cousin Ella

Tons of presents for the little guy!

Ella was very helpful opening the presents....she thoughtfully asked, "I open our presents now?"

After the shower, we went to the hotel to spend some more time together with friends and family.

Josh, Evan, Lauren, Joe, Kelly, Kelly, and Jesse

Kelly, Colleen, Mom, and Gee Gee

This one was just funny of the partying-lady-cougars!

Josh and I just had the best weekend and were so glad to share it with our loved ones.  We're so thankful that our little man is going to be born into such a loving, supportive family.

Nola's exhausted!

Things have been pretty crazy around here lately, and it's just too tiring for Nola!
Here are a few shots of her catching some ZZZZ'S on the couch.

27 week ultrasound

This morning, we went to the doctor for our 27 week ultrasound.  The little gentleman was once again, quite disinterested in having his picture taken.  He is very low, head down, and face down...and is quite content to simply mind his own business in there.  He was most certainly awake, because he was happily kicking away, however had no interest in turning around to show us his pretty face.  That said, the pictures are quite distorted, as they are from a crazy angle.

He is currently 2 lbs 3 oz and is in the 49th percentile for his size...with the exception of his head, which is just "slightly ahead of pace".

We love him so much and just cannot wait to meet him!

Painting the Nursery

This past weekend, Dad came by to help Josh paint the nursery.  What started off as a bare white room, was transformed, just a few hours later, into a perfect nursery for our little friend.  Though the colors didn't come out exactly as we had planned, we think it's perfect!

 Hard at work...taping.

 The proud Daddy and Grandad!

We signed the baseboard at the end of the day to commemorate our hard work...Well, Josh and Dad's hard work.  (I served more as a project manager.)

The finished product!
The nursery is green on the bottom and yellow on top, with a white border.  (We stuck to just paint, since we're temporarily in an apartment.)
The furniture will be arriving shortly, but in the meantime, Colleen has been sending lots of items that Ella has been kind enough to share with her baby cousin.

It was a great day and we were happy to have Dad there to help.

Baby Boy Edwards is on the way!

We can't wait!  Our precious baby boy will be here in just a few months.
